About
I’m an attachment parenting, baby wearing, breastfeeding, no puree feeding Mama to the cutest baby boy, Emilio Raphael born January 9th, 2011.
What is attachment parenting? There is no set definition or rules that you follow, it is actually how most people innately parent. Attachment parenting is not about making your children “attached” to you. It actually promotes the opposite. By being responsive to your baby’s needs and wants early on you develop a good sense of what they need and can then proactively provide, and they develop an innate sense of, “My needs are met, I can go out in to the world confidently and independently.” For more visit Dr. Sears’ site, Attachment Parenting- 7 Baby Bs
Babywearing and Breastfeeding are amount the 7 Baby Bs that Dr. Sears recommends in the attachment parenting model. I do it, because it feels right, because it helped give Emilio a great start to his life, and because it has helped us build a close strong bond that will help mold a positive, supportive, loving relationship as he grows.
Why I don’t use purees- We’re following the Baby Led Weaning or Baby Led Solids model in our house. Just like sitting, crawling, standing, and walking a baby has to teach him or herself how to eat and they have the innate skills to do it, we just have to let them practice! Baby Led Weaning is all about giving the baby control of what they eat and how. As one BLWing Mom said, “Food before 1 is just for fun.” For more information check out this site: Baby Led Weaning
